Network Management Card
Network Management Cards

 Model Information

Network interface cards that provide standards-based remote management of UPSs.

Safe, fast, remote network management is a necessity in today’s business environment. As devices continue to evolve into increasingly smarter network appliances, the relationship between power availability and network availability becomes even more critical. Network administrators must be able to control their entire infrastructure with absolute confidence. By using expansion modules that increase the Network Management Card’s functionality, network administrators can now confidently increase their control over their infrastructure. Network Management Cards provide standards-based monitoring, configuration, control, and event handling for APC UPSs, and PowerChute remote shutdown for systems over a 10/100BaseT network. The new modules are integrated onto a single UPS SmartSlot card and have features like a built in modem for dial in, out of band management and environmental management capabilities for infrastructure management.

Features & Benefits
Protection
Network-based shutdown Allows unattended shutdown of systems in the event of an extended power outage.
Manageability
Standards-based management Network administrators can manage via preferred interface. Via Web, Telnet, SNMP, or with Smart-UPSs, a WAP browser.
E-mail notification Network administrators can solve problems remotely before they impact availability.
Remote device management Allows users to customize UPS or APC device behavior to fit their power environment
Network Time Protocol Allows users to set the card's system time by using a Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server.
Event logging Records selected power and system events with a description and time/date stamp to enable diagnosis of UPS/power problems.
Data Logging Data logs provide APC device generated data that allows current problems to be diagnosed. Can be viewed through browser or download to a spreadsheet.
Reboot equipment remotely Saves companies from dispatching technician to remote location.
Flash Upgradeable Maintenance releases of firmware can be installed remotely using FTP.
Severity Based Action Configuration User definable event severity configuration. Complete event action (trap, email, log, etc..) configuration.
Scheduling User definable parameters allow user to shut down connected equipment and UPSs as required. Allows customers to perform OS maintenance shutdowns or schedule other UPS shutdown periods. AP9617 only.
Adaptability
10/100 BaseT Connection AP9617 can be used in 10BaseT or 100BaseT network environments. AP9606 - 10BaseT only
Modular/Expandable Users can add modular cards/firmware to upgrade features. AP9617 Only.
Environmental Monitoring Environmental monitoring capability using an APC temperature and humidity probe. Must have Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring and Out-of-Band Management (AP9618), Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring (AP9619) or add upgrade kit to AP9617.
Environmental Monitoring Input contacts for two separate user-definable contact sensors. Must have Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring and Out-of-Band Management (AP9618), Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring(AP9619) or add upgrade kit to AP9617.
Environmental Monitoring One output relay which can be used to activate a physical response to a defined event. Must have Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring and Out-of-Band Management (AP9618), Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring(AP9619) or add upgrade kit to AP9617.
Out-of-Band Management On board modem which allows out-of-band management through a telephone line. Must have Network Management Card with Environmental Monitoring and Out-of-Band Management (AP9618) or add upgrade kit to AP9617.
