AXIS 540/640
Pocket Sized High-Performance Multiprotocol
Print Server for Ethernet/Token Ring Networks
Connects printers directly to the
network allowing users of different operating systems to share
printer resources.
|
|
|
The AXIS 540/640 is the
high-performance solution for printing in medium sized and large
LANs, supporting most systems available in todays heterogeneous
network environments. Just like the three port version AXIS
560/660, it uses state-of-the-art technology, offers advanced
TCP/IP support and provides excellent printing flexibility.
|
| Easy to use
|
AXIS NetPilotTM
installation/configuration program guides the user through the
installation with a Wizard. Each network protocol
can be configured independently. The monitoring function alerts
you if printer problems occur. |
Web based management
(available for 540+/542+ and 640/642) |
A built-in WWW server enables
platform independent configuration as well as monitoring of
printer status via standard Web browsers. |
| Fast Printing |
High throughput enabled
by a 32-bit RISC processor, ETRAX, specifically designed for
LAN products generates significantly faster throughput than
connecting your printer to a PC. |
| Easy to upgrade
|
Flash memory that allows
network administrators to centrally perform updates of the print
server software over the network. |
| Pocket sized
|
One high-speed, parallel
port that plugs directly into the printers parallel port.
No cables needed. Bi-directional support for Apple EtherTalk.
|
| Logical Printer Concept
|
Allows one physical printer
to be used as eight virtual printers, each with customized features,
such as: auto ASCII to PostScript conversion, multiple bin selection,
customized strings before and after jobs, and more
