Improved
Remote Power Management
Best
Powers New BestLink SNMP/WEB Adapter is a network
adapter for Uninterruptible Power Systems that provides
both SNMP and HTTP compatibility. This allows you to easily
monitor, manage and, if necessary, safely shutdown remote
UPS-protected servers, routers, hubs, and other key internetworking
devices in a controlled manner.
BestLink
SNMP/WEB Adapters provide a self-contained link between
the Best Power UPS and an Ethernet LAN/WAN, allowing your
UPS to be remotely monitored and controlled from the next
room, the next building, or the next state...with no additional
overhead on any server. These dedicated adapters provide
the essential network connection and pathway between UPS
and any industry-standard network management platform or
popular Web browser. BestLink also controls automatic shutdown
of protected computer systems with the use of NetWatch client
software (available beginning with Best Powers CheckUPS
II CD-ROM v3.2).

Expanded
Network Communication
By
utilizing the supplied MIB (Management Information Base)
for UPSs, real-time monitoring and control of power protection
across your LAN or WAN is achievable by using either third-party
network management software, or through utilization of
a Web browser such as Netscape® or Internet Explorer®.
You can also remotely change UPS-related parameters, tailoring
them to your specific requirements, as well as display
176 MIB variables such as line voltage and frequency,
battery voltage, UPS load, and various alarms.
Easier
Network Management
Best
Powers BestLink SNMP/WEB Adapters expand your control
and visibility throughout the network, and allow you to
track power-related problems anywhere on the network.
Along with managing the servers, routers, hubs, and other
network devices, the UPS can also be monitored and controlled.
The same network management software used to manage your
other SNMP-compatible devices such as SunNet Manager,
Novell Manage Wise, HP-OpenView, NetView 6000, and others,
may be used to manage the UPS. And even if your protected
device goes down, the UPS can still communicate with you
via the BestLink SNMP/WEB Adapter. You may even be able
to use the UPS to reboot the device.
