Best Power...The Vanguard of Mission-Critical
Power Protection
For years, Best Power UPS units
have played an integral role in protecting a broad range of
critical IT applications on board naval vessels…including the
FERRUPS™ line, which has safeguarded applications for the Navy,
Army, Air Force, NASA and other important DOD entities; and
the UNITY/I™ Three-Phase line.
Since 1997, Best Power has worked
with Code 9344 at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock's
Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station (NAVSSES) in Philadelphia,
Pa., and with a major shipbuilder to configure Shipboard Environment
Adapted Commercial Off-the-Shelf (SEACOTS) FERRUPS and UNITY/I
UPS packages that meet 901 shock and 167 vibration standards,
specifically for latest-generation shipboard power protection
needs.
The Best Power FERRUPS UPS (FE
model) has been electrically performance tested by the Naval
Ship Systems Engineering Station on the LBES ungrounded ships'
power system. FERRUPS FE tower units, FES short rack, and FER
standard rack units would by extension also pass this testing.
SEACOTS-configured FERRUPS packages safeguard SPAWAR-installed
equipment aboard CVN carriers.
The SEACOTS-configured 15kVA UNITY/I
Three-Phase package with internal batteries and associated bypass
switch was high shock-tested (barge, explosive) on resilient
mounts for ultimate installation on a CVN. Qualification of
the UNITY/I Three-Phase 15kVA/kW package qualifies the 10kVA/kW
package by extension. As a result, 10kVA/kW units also have
been installed to support SPAWAR-installed equipment.
Best Power is currently working
with Code 9344 at NAVSSES to test and qualify a wider range
of SEACOTS-configured FERRUPS and UNITY/I Three-Phase models
for additional shipboard installations.
