The Cisco 7000 series of multiprotocol routers includes the Cisco
7000 and the Cisco 7010. Network interfaces reside on modular interface
processors, which provide a direct connection between the high-speed
Cisco Extended Bus (CxBus) and the external network. Distributed
processing is accomplished by the Route Processor (RP), Switch Processor
(SP), and Silicon Switch Processor (SSP).
