Use
Phoneboot II to power up your Computer Remotely from your Touch-tone
Telephone or Hayes-compatible Modem!
Leaving your computer on every
night exposes your system to the hazards of lightning, power surges
and hackers. With PhoneBoot II you can turn on your computer from
home when you're ready to work. Once you hang up the line, your
computer can issue or receive calls or perform shut-down routines
before PhoneBoot II automatically turns the system off. |

Password Security
PhoneBoot II features an enhanced
four-digit access code to provide better protection from hackers
and accidental booting. When you call PhoneBoot II, the system
will power-up only after you enter the correct code. If you don't
need security, just flip the switch on the front panel to put
PhoneBoot II into ring mode. Your computer powers up automatically
after the number of rings you select.
User Configurable
You set the pace! Along with
the ring count, PhoneBoot II lets you decide how long your computer
stays on after you hang up. As shipped, the system allows an additional
18 minutes before automatically shutting down the computer again. |
Local
Control
A front panel switch lets
you control how you operate your system. In the LOCAL ON position,
PhoneBoot II performs as a power switch for daytime use. The REMOTE
ENABLE position lets you power your computer remotely through
the telephone line.
Two versions of PhoneBoot II are available: domestic and international.
The domestic version includes a 6-foot power cord for use with
grounded outlets.
