NFS for NT 4.0
UNIX® Link incorporates
NFS client improvements for Windows NT. The completely re-designed
client offers tighter integration with the Windows Explorer, network
browsing, support for long file names, UNC file access, driveless
mounts, on-the-fly mounts, unlimited NFS mounts, directory caching
and lookup caching. This adds up to a full-featured NFS client that
is up 359% faster than the previous client. If you use NFS on Windows
NT you'll love what we've done.
Web-based
Terminal Emulation Kit
UNIX® Link provides
a TN (Telnet) emulation kit for incorporating 5250 (AS/400) and
3270 (S/390) terminal emulation applications in web pages. More
and more users are showing a preference for using web browsers as
the standard front-end for all applications. With UNIX®
Link customers can now provide access to legacy applications from
PCs via their browser of preference. By using browsers as the front-end
to applications customers can drastically reduce learning curve
time, training costs, and support efforts. In short, the total Cost
of Ownership is reduced.
Add this to the web-based access we were the first to provide to
X Windows applications and you have the first product to support
browser-access to UNIX, AS/400 and mainframe environments. No vendor
offers more browser access to legacy applications.
Multiple
concurrent X Server sessions
Up to 32 concurrent X Windows
sessions, each with their own keyboard mapping, is now available
with UNIX® Link. Also, both XDM and non-XDM sessions
can be invoked simultaneously. This means that users can access
different X Windows applications from one PC regardless of their
design and implementation. Previously if you needed to run different
X Windows applications that used different keyboard mappings you
had to terminate one application and start the other. Only one keyboard
mapping at a time was permitted.
