The Magnum DX800 delivers secure multi-protocol networking in a compact, rugged package purpose-built for power substations and other harsh environments. With mounting options for panels, DIN-rail or 19” racks, the DX800 provides deployment flexibility for wherever a mix of serial and Ethernet-based connectivity is required.

The DX800 provides full perimeter protection with IP firewall and IPsec VPN features when used as an edge router/terminal server at remote critical facilities. Per-session encrypted SSL capabilities permit fine-grained security extended to end-point connections when used as a distributed terminal server in larger installations. Dual fiber Ethernet connectivity coupled with Rapid Spanning Tree and IP routing capabilities ensure resilient backbone communications.

The Magnum DX40 provides a rugged and secure solution for extending fiber-based connectivity to remote devices in harsh environments such as power utility substations.  It combines features of a Serial device server, Ethernet switch and IP router in a single product.

The DX40's dual-serial, dual-Ethernet configuration supports several flexible configurations.  It provides resilient dual fiber-based extension from a core Ethernet network to serial devices distributed across a large facility.  It serves as a multi-protocol concentration and access point for a fiber-based Ethernet wide area network connection to a small site. Encrypted per-session SSL and IPsec VPN capabilities, along with other IP Firewall and port security features, assure cyber-security protections will extend cost effectively all the way to end-point devices and small facilities.

The DS2000-TS family of utility-hardened serial-to-IP terminal servers enhances network reliability and reduces costs by integrating fiber optic interfaces on serial data connections. Serial-over-fiber interfaces provide optical signal isolation required for reliable data connectivity in harsh electromagnetic environments such as power utility substations. Fiber optic integration in the DS2000-TS eliminates the typical alternative of collocating multiple external media conversion devices, thus reducing space, eliminating redundant power feeds and simplifying field installation.

DynaStar 1500 Ethernet Terminal Server (DS1500-ETS)

The newest addition to GarrettCom Utility Networks' family of substation-hardened networking products is the DynaStar 1500 Ethernet Terminal Server (DS1500-ETS). The DS1500-ETS is a multi-function, multi-protocol networking platform purpose-built for distributed industrial applications such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

In a single product, the DS1500-ETS integrates three often-discrete networking functions: Terminal Server (Async serial device support), Ethernet switch (local switching and router access), and IP Router.

With support for a wide range of Ethernet and serial (both bit- and byte-oriented) devices, the DS1500-ETS consolidates data connections from RTUs, PLCs, IEDs, HMI PCs and other digital data devices and enables multiple generations of equipment to share a common networking infrastructure.
