Easy to Use, Yet Virtually Hacker
Proof
ION Secure 500 Series Tokens are as simple to use as entering a
password, but much more secure. Each user is assigned an ION Secure
token that generates a new, unpredictable passcode every time a
user desires to request remote access to the ION Secure Management
Environment (IME). ION Secure authentication requires very few steps
and authorized users are positively identified within seconds. Employees,
business partners and customers, can use ION Secure tokens whether
local, remote or mobile.
ION Secure 510 Series Tokens
The
ION Secure 510 is an easy-to-use personal authenticator. The size
of a credit card, the ION Secure 510 supports DES encryption and
two-factor user authentication that combines something the user
knows (an ID and password) and something the user has (a token)
to verify their identity. The ION Secure 510 uses a Personal Identification
Number (PIN) to generate unique, one-time passcodes for the highest
level of security where there is a risk of electronic eavesdropping
or network "sniffing". A replaceable battery makes the ION Secure
510 convenient for users and cost-effective for administrators.
ION Secure 520 Series Tokens
Strong (two-factor) solutions prevent password cracking attempts by requiring two elements of authentication:
- Something you have: (the ION 520 token), and
- Something you know: (your PIN).
When you deploy the ION 520 authentication method, you prevent eavesdropping, hacks and password cracking attempts through system access points. The 520-authentication system uses a dynamic, rather than a passive password. Using a challenge/response system means that passwords are ‘one-time’ – valid only for a single connection attempt. The ION solution creates a moving target, which is virtually impossible to crack.
How ‘strong’ is ION 520?
Embedded with a 128 bit private key for each user, the 520 token enables extremely strong authentication. The authentication method is so secure that it is calculated to take over 72 quadrillion attempts to break the key.
