Low
desktop cost of ownership, speed and connectivity
NCD
ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR Windows-based Terminals offer today’s IT
managers both a significantly lower cost of desktop ownership
and the flexibility to support many user requirements.
With virtually all
application software and hardware upgradesas well as administration,
management and maintenancetaking place on the servers, costs
are reduced.
NCD ThinSTAR 300 and
300TR also feature multiple peripheral connectivity capabilities,
making it the most flexible thin client available. And with Intel
architecture, users are guaranteed super-fast desktop performance.
Advanced
design combines powerful manageability, easy installation and
high performance
The
NCD ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR use an Intel Pentium processor and
are designed to support the Intel Architecture Lean Client (IALC)
definition. This provides power to the desktop user with the latest
technology and enterprise-wide desktop consistency.
NCD ThinSTAR 300
and 300TR also speeds graphics rendering with a high performance
S3 Graphics processor and NCD-developed graphics optimization.
Users have a choice of an auto-sensing 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface
or a Token Ring interface operating at 4 or 16 Mbps. Support for
either Microsoft RDP or Citrix ICA protocols provides systems
administrators with the choice of NT server-based environments.
For further connection
flexibility, the NCD ThinSTAR 300 supports an external modem.
When combined with the software-based PPP dialer, included with
every NCD ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR, remote users can access network
resources from any location.
To compliment power
with ease of management, NCD ThinSTAR 300 implements features
of Intel’s Wired for Management Initiative for simplified
network-based desktop management. And installing the NCD ThinSTAR
300 is as simple as connecting it to your Ethernet LAN. Users
are up and running quickly with this plug-and-play devices.
Flexibility
to meet a variety of user and application requirements
NCD
ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR meet unique industry application requirements
with their standard peripheral connectivity adapters. Every NCD
ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR features 2 serial ports, one parallel port,
2 Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, and 16-bit audio input and
output. Windows applications can use local peripherals, printer,
or audio over either Citrix ICA or Microsoft RDP connections with
optional NCD ThinPATH software products.
NCD ThinSTAR 300 and
300TR can support peripherals such as smart card readers and light
pens in the healthcare industry; barcode scanners, touchscreen
capabilities, and cash drawers in the retail industry; or credit
card readers and local printers in the banking and airline industries.
Automatic
software updates; advanced operating environment features
Every
NCD ThinSTAR 300 and 300TR contains NCD ThinSTAR Operating Software
resident in local flash memory. This Windows CE-based operating
environment is key to NCD ThinSTAR advanced capabilities. It provides
such functions as plug-and-play installation, instant network
connection, PPP dialer, and user-customizable functions.
NCD
ThinPATH Software adds value
