ThinSTAR Operating Software is a software product that resides on
an NT server. It provides a number of functions for NCD ThinSTAR
Windows-based terminals:
- Loads NCD
ThinPATH Software options into NCD ThinSTAR terminals
- Centralizes the installation
of NCD ThinSTAR software components
- Allows NCD ThinSTAR
terminals to be reset to initial factory state
NCD
ThinSTAR Operating Software v2.0 is a significantly enhanced version
of NCD ThinSTAR Operating Software for NCD ThinSTAR 200 and NCD
ThinSTAR 300 Windows-Based Terminals. It addresses the two most
critical areas of need: manageability and usability. New features
for version 2.0 include:
- More keyboard languages
- Software volume control
- Mouse speed control
- ELO TouchScreen support
- Microphone control
- Latest Microsoft RDP
technology bundled at no extra cost
- Citrix CE ICA Client

This process of installing
and updating the terminal is performed by a utility included in
the NCD ThinSTAR Operating Software, the NCD ThinSTAR Management
Service (TMS). This service is responsible for maintaining the non-volatile
memory contents of every NCD ThinSTAR terminal on the network.
NCD recommends that every
NCD ThinSTAR customer have one copy of the NCD ThinSTAR Operating
Software to accommodate these processes.
