911 Number Blocking The RightFAX 5.20 server will block dialing to any phone number beginning with the digits '911'. The check is preformed with and without any dialing prefix, so a dialing prefix of '9' and a number like '115552233' would cause a block because the number results in the server attempting to dial '9115552233' which starts with '911'. The number blocking may be disabled entirely using the following registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RightFAX\BoardServer\BlockingFlags:REG_DWORD:2 The check for '911' after the dialing prefix has been added may be disabled with the following registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RightFAX\BoardServer\BlockingFlags:REG_DWORD:1 If a number is blocked, the fax will appear in FaxUtil with the status, "ED:Scheduling Failed". The Board Server Service will log a warning in the NT Event Log system whenever it blocks a number. The two possible formats of the warning are: DSNDFX:User XXXX attempted to dial a blocked number (####). Send abandoned and: SSND:User XXXX attempted to dial a blocked number (####). Send abandoned If the warning begins with "SSND:" then the number was blocked after the prefix was added.
Virtual Memory Usage The BoardServer and WorkServer modules have been tuned to use less virtual memory. On some configurations, the modules will use up too much memory. The symptom is a growing VM Size usage as monitored by the Windows Task Manager or an error message from NT indicating the system is out of virtual memory. The memory may be freed by cycling the RFBoard and RFWork1 services using the following command: NET STOP RFBOARD NET STOP RFWORK1 NET START RFBOARD NET START RFWORK1
SQL Cursor Type in ODBC The Windows 95/98/NT pop-up fax client has the ability to link to any ODBC source as a fax phone book. The ODBC phone book functionality now allows the configuration of the SQL Cursor Type. This makes the ODBC phone books more flexible with respect to the numerous ODBC drivers available.
Auto-Creating Users with Notes Gateway The RightFAX E-mail Gateway for Notes now has the ability to automatically create new users in RightFAX to match users from Notes. To support outbound faxing from any e-mail system RightFAX does NOT need matching users (this is the function of the DEFAULT user). For those customers who wish to always have matching users, the Notes gateway will now create a user in RightFAX whenever an unknown user sends a fax from Notes. This functionality may be enabled or disabled using the following registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RightFAX\Gateway\Gateway\ AutoCreateUser:REG_DWORD:# Where # is 0 to disable or 1 to enable. In the shipping 5.20 product, the initial setting of the function is undefined, thus the above registry entry should be used to enable or disable the feature as desired. |
