SMC's EtherPower 10/100 CardBus PC Card combines the power of Fast Ethernet with the power of the 32-bit CardBus Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus supported by today's new high-performance Pentium portable computers. This combination provides up to 200 Mbps throughput point to point in full-duplex mode.

The EtherPower 10/100 CardBus PC Card is compatible with both 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps networks, and supports the IEEE Auto-Negotiation standard to automatically configure itself to run at the highest possible speed supported by the LAN segment. This dual-mode operation eases the migration from 10 Mbps Ethernet to 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet.

While the EtherPower 10/100 CardBus PC Card is compatible with CardBus-compliant laptops, it also includes drivers that do not require Card and Socket Services (CSS) software. The EtherPower 10/100 CardBus PC Card extends your laptop's battery life by consuming only 3.3V, nearly half the power required by older PCMCIA network cards.

The EtherPower 10/100 CardBus PC Card is available with a single cable module for connection to a 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX network.
