Intelligent Hub

Automatic Port/Segment Partitioning and Reconnection:

• Continuously monitors all ports and tracks the recon" frequency (the number of reconfigurations per unit time)
• Nine tri­color LEDs indicate status of direct connect and cascaded ports

Network Management Software

Intuitive Graphical Interface:

• Bridged Network Map ­ graphic representation of bridged NetWare networks
• Network Map ­ real­time graphic representation of the network layout showing all the Intelligent Hubs, the user­supplied location of each Hub, and the status of each Hub port
• Node Map ­ real­time graphic representation of a single coax or twisted pair Intelligent Hub showing all PCs connected to each port, including those in bus or daisy­chain configurations

Password Management System:

• Maintains passwords for up to ten users
• Choice of three security levels for each user

User Interface:

• Universal ­ runs under any network operating system
• Runs on any EGA or VGA workstation
• Friendly pull­down menus
• Choice of "point and click" network management via the mouse or "one touch" keyboard control

Menu Selections:

• Enable/disable the Password Management System
• Enter network numbers and cross NetWare bridges
• Display the Network Map and zoom out for a wide angle view or shift the map to display any portion that is not visible on the screen
• Display the Node Map
• Override port status (useful for network security) by shutting down or reconnecting Hub ports manually ­ orange LED on graphics indicates that port has been shut down manually
• Display a complete list of all nodes connected to a single port
• Modify "recon" timeout parameters
• Enter user/location information for each network node
• Locate a specific network node
