Product Description

The Model 240 is a power stealing interface converter that will convert data, control and clock signals between RS-232 devices and V.35 equipment. The Model 240 incorporates a switch that allows the unit to be interfaced to a DTE or DCE device.

The switch is externally accessible not requiring the user to open the case. The Dataspy LCD display feature provides the user with status information regarding the operation of the converter. The LCD is useful during installation and functional checkout whenever there are suspected problems. The graphic display presents the user with live status of the transmit and receive data signals, TD and RD, and control signals CTS, RTS, DSR, DCD, and DTR. The electrical interface for both ports is implemented in DB25 female connectors. Companion cables are available that provide the translation from the DB25 connector to the V.35 M block connectors typically associated with V.35 equipment. Each unit is supplied with a 10 foot extension cable with a male and female DB25 connector. The Model CAB435 is a six foot (2 meter) cable that provides a V.35 interface on a 34 pin male V.35 connector. The Model CAB436 is a six foot cable that provides V.35 interface with a 34 pin female V.35 connector. The Model 240 supports data transfer rates from DC to 100 KBPS. Power is derived from the RS-232 interface with minimum signals required being TD and one control signal.
