The Model 248 V.35 Opto Isolator provides for complete electrical isolation
between two V.35 devices. The isolation includes full duplex data, timing
and control signals, and is achieved using opto couplers thereby guaranteeing
complete isolation between systems. This isolation will decrease both
hardware and data errors caused by surges, electrical interference or
differences in ground potentials of the two systems to be connected.The
Model 248 also provides a line driving capability whose performance
yields data transmission over 1,000 feet (330 m) of cable at a data
rate of 64 KBPS. Four different power options are offered. The standard
unit is supplied with a 110 Volt AC, 60 Hz wall mounted adapter. As
an option a 220 VAC, 50 Hz adapter is available. For those applications
involving a telephone central office the Model 248 can be supplied for
operation from -48 Volts DC or ±24 Volts DC. A 3.5mm jack is provided
for the adapters and the DC versions.
