Product Description
The Model 267-3/4 complies with the bipolar requirements of the Type
I interfaces as specified in MIL-STD-188-114A. The Model 267-3/4 is
a modular interface converter that accomplishes the hardware conversion
between an RS-232 interface and an EIA-530 interface implemented in
RS-422 and RS-423 voltage levels. The RS-422 signals are differential
whereas the RS-423 signals are single ended. The voltage levels of the
EIA-530 interface also comply with MIL-STD-188-114, Type 2. The Model
267 packaging concept offers the user the ability to place a large number
of complex, multi-purpose, interface converters in a compact rack mounted
package. The Model 267 interface converter is a card that includes all
of the circuitry to do bi-directional conversion for 10 Category I,
differential drivers and receivers, and three Category II, single ended,
circuits. The Model 267 is offered in two versions, DTE or DCE. For
the Model 267-3 the RS-232 port is configured to interface to a DTE
and the EIA-530 port interfaces with a DCE. The reverse configuration
is offered as the Model 267-4. The Model 267 has a power switch to allow
insertion/removal of a module into a live, powered, card cage. Seven
LED's display the status of the prime signals. The Model 267 Interface
Converter is hosted by the Model 76-6 or 76-7(redundant power supply)
Card Cage.
The Model 76-6 card cage can accept up to 14 plug-in modules and contains
a modular switching power supply that develops the various voltages
required by the interface converters.
