Product Description
The Model 274 is a unique fiber optic short haul modem since it only
requires one multimode, 62.5/125 fiber, thereby saving a second fiber
optic line which is commonly used by conventional fiber optic modems.
Where standard duplex fiber cables have been installed the system
capacity
can now be doubled without the expense of installing new fiber. The
Model 274 supports nine synchronous data rates up to 256 KBPS or any
asynchronous
data rate from DC to 38.4 KBPS. It also supports two low frequency
RS-232 handshake signals RTS/CTS and DTR/DSR.Built-in diagnostics,
operator
selectable, include Local Loopback and Remote Loopback. The user interface
is via a female DB-25 connector while the optical fiber interface
uses
an industry standard ST connector. LED's for TD, RD, control signals
and loopbacks aid in verifying system operation.
The standard unit is equipped for operation at 110 Volts, 60Hz, and
220 Volts, 50Hz is available as an ordering option.
