The Model 8225 DIN Rail mounted short haul modem provides multi-drop
capability as typically used in polled or controlled carrier applications,
for those networks which use a master controller and many slaves. These
features and the wide operating temperature range make the Model 8225
an ideal candidate for the factory environment.
The Model 8225 operates at any data rate up to 38.4 KBPS with a range
of 3.75 miles (6 km) on No. 24 AWG wire. DTE/DCE switching allows the
Model 8225 to operate in all configurations.
The Model 8225 incorporates line coupling transformers to provide isolation
between communicating modems and protection against AC and DC surges
on the four wire line. Line connection is via a terminal block. The
Model 8225 data interface features a female DB9 connector.
The Model 8225 includes a Range Select switch and Link Status LED to
allow the user to optimize the performance on any link from zero feet
to the maximum of 20,000 feet (6 km). The Model 8225 operates from any
source of DC voltage from +15 Volts to +35 Volts. Alternatively an optional
+15 Volts DC adapter can be ordered. This adapter can be ordered for
operation from 110 Volts, 60 Hz or 220 Volts, 50 Hz.
