The AND-1 monitors ASCII "error" or "cry-for-help" messages, and/or hardware signal levels generated by your data equipment. When a problem is indicated, the AND_1 can call your pager and display a message that describes the problem. In addition to pager notification, the AND-1 can also send an alarm report to a remote printer, or trigger an audible alarm in your security command center.

Installation and setup are simple. The AND-1 can be configured locally through the command port, or configured remotely via modem. Any PC with terminal emulation software can be used to set up parameters or display system status using menu-driven commands.
