RS-232 Data Broadcast Units

DataReach™ Model DBU-41A

Applications:Application Diagram

Features:

· 4 and 8 port models

The WTI data broadcast units are ideal for sending copies of data to remote display monitors, video terminals or multiple printers. The units can also be used to send duplicate data for fail-safe backup or redundant storage purposes. Data sent to the DBU's master port is filtered, the signals are boosted, and the data is sent out all 4 or 8 terminal ports. The DBU output ports simulates standard modem interface (DCE) and is compatible with standard RS-232 terminal data cable. The DBU master port simulates a standard terminal interface (DTE).

The loopback feature can be used to perform a data transmission test. When the loopback feature is enabled, data that is sent from the master terminal to the DBU will be echoed back to the master port. The "Looped Back" data can then be compared with the data that was originally transmitted. The Loopback feature can be enabled or disabled by simple DIP switch settings.
