DC Powered network equipment sometimes "locks-up", requiring a service
call to a remote site just to flip the power switch to perform a simple
reboot. The RPC-4840N Heavy Duty Network Power Switch gives network administrators
the ability to perform this function from anywhere on the LAN/WAN, or
if the network is down, to simply dial-in from a standard external modem
for out-of-band power control.
Intelligent
Power Control
The RPC-4840N can be controlled over any TCP/IP network using generic
Telnet, or out-of-band by using an external modem and basic VT100 type
terminal emulation. When the RPC-4840N includes the optional second DC
power circuit, each circuit can be independantly switched ON, OFF or Booted
(OFF-delay-ON). Each -48 VDC circuit can also be assigned an individual
password, device name, reboot delay time and unique power-up default state.
Security
and Co-Location Features
The RPC-4840N unit employs an address-specific IP security mask to prevent
unauthorized sources from entering the RPC command mode. Two levels of
operational passwords are available; the system administrator level, and
individual user level. When the optional second -48VDC circuit is present,
the user-level security features are ideal for co-location applications
where two different users may be allowed circuit-specific access to the
RPC-4840N unit.
Dual Power Bus
Flexibility
The RPC-4840N is available with either one or two 40 Amp -48
VDC power circuits. Each bus has it's own source DC inlet, circuit breaker
and switched terminal block. This provides an ideal tool for switching redundant
A/B power supplies or switching other DC devices with high current requirements.
