Configuration with single-user OutLook switches EL-40DT
/ EL-80DT, EL40DTF/ EL-80 DTF, EL-40DC / EL-80DC
Emerge connects to the console port on the OutLook switch
as if it were a user. This setup allows the remote user to
utilize the OSCAR menus to access commands and functionality
of the switch. All eight (or four) computer ports are available
for servers. A keyboard and mouse is required for the Emerge
unit to boot up properly. Monitor installation is optional.
Connect a monitor to perform service at the Emerge unit. The
remote user can also perform service on the Emerge system.
Configuration with multi-user OutLook switches EL-280DT
/ EL-480DT
Emerge connects to one of the console ports on the OutLook
switch as if it were a user. This setup allows the remote
user to utilize the OSCAR menus to access commands and functionality
of the switch. All eight computer ports are available for
servers. A keyboard and mouse are required for the Emerge

a monitor to perform service at the Emerge unit. The remote
user can also perform service on the Emerge system.
Configuration with ViewPoint switch system
Emerge connects to one of the user pods, as if it were a
user, and also to a system pod. This setup allows remote users
to utilize the OSCAR menus to access commands and functionality
of the switch. No keyboard and mouse are needed at the Emerge
unit, because the system pod, instead of the local keyboard
and mouse, boots up Emerge properly. All user pods as well
as the remote user can access the Emerge unit to perform service.
