DDL 2150 PCI Bus Extension
||The Digital Desktop System
enables IT professionals to relocate a user's
computer up to 2600 feet (800 meters) away while
still providing the user the same PC experience.
This enables secured centralization of PC
resources. The basic system consists of a host
card (PCI Add In Card), interconnecting
Fiber link and a Desktop
Appliance. The Digital Desktops System is composed
of a desktop appliance, PCI add-in card, and an
administration interface utility, DWorks. DWorks
is an optional use software administration utility
to provide additional functionality and further
flexibility for remote management.
- Layer 2 Ethernet protocol - The
link between the Desktop Appliance and Host card uses
Layer 2 Ethernet protocol. This enables IT managers to
implement a cost effective centralized management
system using the DWorks administration interface
utility. Support of centralized Network configurations
enables administration features such as scanning the
network for Digital Desktop devices, device status,
device power control, centralized flash upgrade and the
ability to link user to PC.
- Multi-monitor Support. Supports up
to 2 monitors utilizing the on-board video controller.
Larger multi-monitor configurations can be supported by
utilizing the Appliance PCI slot. Support for up to 8
monitors available with additional PCI graphics
Maintain End-User Flexibility - The
PC user can now have the full and extensive range of
PC peripheral control without having the PC at the
desk. This is an extension solution without
- Audio ports
- One PCI expansion slot
- Asset Security - Secures all PC
assets in a centralized location. All appliances are
Kensington® lock-ready. Minimize breach of corporate
data through theft, espionage, tampering, etc.
- Existing Infrastructure Support -
Supports PCI based machines, Win 95-2000, ME, XP, and
most Linux distributions.
