Avocent's DSR800 is a cost effective 8-port KVM
switch with remote access capability, designed for
server access and control in lower-density
applications and distributed locations.
This KVM OVER IP switch allows IT administrators
to easily troubleshoot, or even reboot a server, at
the rack, from the NOC, from their desk or from any
location in the world, using standard TCP/IP
connections. Patented OSCAR on-screen GUI provides
local access and control and Avocent's DSView
management software provides secure IP-based access
anywhere, anytime.
DSView offers flexible access for IP-based
server management from any location in the world.
The DS management software, which consists of the
DSView client, DSAuth server, DSAdmin and
DSWebview, is the cornerstone of the DS series.
With DSView, you can access all of your data center
devices using a standard IP connection. The
DSWebview feature provides secure, browser-based
access to virtually any data center device via
Avocent's DS Series product suite.
Avocent's DSView interface provides secure
'point-and-click' control to any connected
device, using IP connections.
For added user security, Avocent's DSAuth
user authentication software stores permissions,
topology and per-device contact information for the
DS Series. It also performs third party
authentication during connection to the switch.
Note: DSView and DSAuth are
sold separately. See ordering details for more
information.
