Additional Model Specific Information

Ground Guard® Models:
Ground Guard models have all the same technical and performance specifications of the standard POWERVAR UPM models. Ground Guard models are equipped with POWERVAR’s patented ground conditioning technology. Ground Guard models prevent the occurrence of ground loops in networked or interconnected system applications. Ground Guard models can be used in lieu dedicated electrical circuits with isolated ground wiring.

Medical Grade Models:
Models with the designation of “-11IEC” have all the same technical and performance specifications of the standard POWERVAR UPM models. These models are equipped with hospital grade plugs and receptacles and have been tested to meet the requirements of UL60601-1 and cUL C22.2 No. 60601-1. These models are not UL or cUL listed for operation at 100 volts.

 

NOTE 1:
Will operate at 50 Hz when used at 100 volts. When used at 100 volts, maximum output current still applies. VA rating is reduced approximately 17%.

Noise Rejection-Isolation: With unit under power and an ANSI/IEEE C62.41Cat. A pulse applied either normal or common mode at the input, the noise output voltage will be less than 10V normal mode and less than 0.5V common mode in all four quadrants (CM-NM, NM-NM, CM-CM, NM-CM).
Surge Voltage Withstand Capability: Tested under power to ANSI/IEEE C62.41 Cat. A & B (formerly IEEE587-1980). Cat. A - 6000V @ 200 amps, 0.5 µsec risetime, 100 kHZ decay, Cat. B - 6000V @ 500 amps, 0.5 µsec risetime, 100 kHZ decay.
