The WTI SDC-61 Serial Data Concentrator provides a convenient solution for applications that require multiplexing of RS-232 data from several sources, or broadcasting data to a series of devices from a single PC. The unit is software independent and easy to configure. The SDC-61 is a simple solution for any application requiring collection of data from multiple sources to a common host PC. Typical applications include bar code or point-of-sale input to a common host PC, data input from multiple scales or digital sensors, or concentrating data from multiple time and attendance terminals.

ASCII data records can be collected from up to 6 devices, and then sent out a common port. Each data record can be tagged to indicate the input port where it was received. The SDC-61’s intelligent design allows input ports and output ports to operate at different baud rates. The unit transmits all collected data out the RS-232 and RS-422 collection ports.
